Bu tarihi çerçeveyi dikkate alarak, Kafkasya, Kazakistan, Türkmenistan, Özbekistan, Tacikistan ve Kırgızistan'daki mevcut çatışmaları/işbirliği girişimlerini, Hazar Denizi'nin petrol ve doğal gaz potansiyeli hakkındaki tartışmaları, enerji ve sınır anlaşmazlıklarını ve bölgenin küresel ve bölgesel aktörler nezdindeki itibarını ayrıntılı olarak inceleyecektir. Bu dersin amacı, öğrencilerin devlet inşası ve ulusal kimlik süreçleri, Güney ve Kuzey Kafkasya'nın bölge için jeopolitik etkileri, enerji güvenliği sorunları ve güvenlik zorlukları ile Kazakistan, Türkmenistan, Özbekistan, Tacikistan ve Kırgızistan için aynı sorunlar ve güvenlik zorlukları konularında derinlemesine bilgi edinmelerini sağlamaktır. Bu bilgiler, Azerbaycan, Gürcistan ve Ermenistan, Kazakistan, Türkmenistan, Özbekistan, Tacikistan ve Kırgızistan'ın Türkiye, İran İslam Cumhuriyeti gibi bölgesel aktörler ve ABD, Rusya Federasyonu, Çin ve Avrupa Birliği gibi küresel aktörlerle gelişen ilişkileri eşliğinde, işbirliği-rekabet çerçevesi temelinde sunulacaktır.
